Why 'The Bull Pen'?

Atlas the Bull statue welcomes guests outside The Bull Pen, a top-rated restaurant in Radlett, Hertfordshire.

As you may have guessed, our restaurant takes its name from the building, which was originally used as a pen for the farm's bull, which was built in the early 1900s. Over the years, Battlers Green Farm has been home to many bulls, from Burteen Suzadema III, a Canadian Holstein, to Atlas, pictured here outside what is now our covered terrace area.

Our History

Converted by the family who operate Battlers Green Farm, and founded by Argentinian couple, Peter & Carmen Welford, The Bull Pen first opened its doors on 8th September 1993.

Instantly popular with locals, the restaurant has been extended throughout the years to seat over 120 people, with the addition of the glass fronted atrium and covered terrace in 2018.
